President & Founding Member
Scott Volk, vice president of MetalQuest Unlimited in Hebron, Neb., is never satisfied with the status quo. It’s not in his nature to sit by and let inefficiencies happen. Volk’s drive to find better ways to operate has led the company to become an industry leader in machine communication and automation.
MetalQuest is a contract manufacturer of parts for the firearms, oilfield and hydraulics industries. Known for solving customer challenges that other shops won’t touch, the company often comes up with creative solutions based on what they’ve learned at IMTS.
Vice-President & Founding Member
Casey joined Okuma in 1999 and has over 19 years’ experience in manufacturing. From 2004 to present, Casey has been primarily focused on the OSP-P control, working with prototype field implementation & debugging of the original P100, service & support, training, software support, application design, etc. Casey has an Associate of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and is also currently serving as THINC Developers’ Group (TDG) vice president.
Treasurer & Founding Member
Rob is a PE in Electrical Engineering, started Caron Engineering in 1986 with the main focus on the design and implementation of add-on technology to enhance the capabilities of CNC machines. Designed the first Tool Monitor Adaptive Control (TMAC) in 1990, a product which is a market leader today. Rob has over 30 years of experience in control retrofitting, machine tool probing / tool setting, tool identification (RFID) systems, machine vision and networked systems.

Randy Jokerst is the Director of Technical Services with Hartwig Inc. He has been with Hartwig for 30 years and joined the company in 1985 as a service engineer. He has also held roles as an Applications Engineer and Applications Manager for the St. Louis-based division. Randy is most recognized for his service and applications expertise and is a MASTER in Service and Applications.
Steering Committee Member
Cory has been working with Hartwig Inc. in Houston, Texas since 2012. He started in the Service Department and worked into a position as an Application Engineer in 2014. Cory has been writing industrial applications since 2014 on the OSP Control. Currently, Cory has moved into a position with Hartwig’s Industrial Equipment Software (IES) company to work on software across all controls, OSP included.
Steering Committee Member
Brad Klippstein is the Supervisor of the Product Specialist Group and Controls Product Specialist at Okuma America Corporation. He joined Okuma in 2014 but has close to 10 years of industry experience, mainly focused around OSP and Fanuc control systems. Brad is responsible for teaching customers the benefits and functionality of Okuma controls while fostering new technological enhancements. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo.
Alumni and Founding Member
Jon was a founding member of the TDG and one of our most talented and active contributors. Jon worked a little over 13 years for Gosiger, Inc. out of their Michigan offices. Jon began working as a Service Engineer and transitioned to a role as a Control Specialist. In February 2019, Jon left the industry to accept a position as a Software Engineer to follow his passion for software development.
